Our last day at Moab and we set off along the scenic Potash Road to the Corona Arch trailhead, this is a hike that has been recommended to us.......The Potash Road runs alongside the Colorado River, the steep sides of the canyon walls being very popular with rock climbers ......there are also several areas of Ancient Indian petroglyphs....
The 15 mile Potash Road ends at a potash mine, completely hidden in another canyon....Dave another educational, we just had to google potash, we didn't realise what big business it is.....this mine is distinctive because of the method used to extract the potash....check out potash mine near Moab.... |
HI Sue & Michael,
ReplyDeleteWow my knowledge is being widely extended I now know what a petroglyph is and all about potash (chemical symbol K2 CO3).I cannot wait to sit around a dinning table with Mr Bloor again, and engage in conversation.(I`ll show him)
Love the photographs especially the Delicate Arch. Once again I`m feeling totally unfit after catching up with your treks. Ah well time for another Guinness, cheers,
Enjoy Cortez,
All the best,
Ann& Dave
